MUNFORD COUGARS

                                  J.R. Kirby enters his eleventh year coaching football and his                                     third as Munford’s Head Football Coach.  The Cougars are                                       15-5 the last two regular seasons with two playoff berths.                                         Coach Kirby was awarded the 2014 Tommy Harrison Shelby                                   Metro Coach of the Year for his turnaround of the Munford                                       program.  In 2014, the Cougars finished Region Runner-up                                       and 2015 Started the season 8-0 for only the second time in                                       school history.  The Cougars were also ranked #9 by the  Tennessee Associated Press.  In 2015, the Cougars' dominating rushing attack  finished #1 in the regular season for rush yards per game in the Shelby Metro  Region.  Coach Kirby was also named Head Coach of the 2015 North All-Stars in  the West Tennessee All-Star game that was held in Jackson, Tennessee.  The  North All-Stars won the game 26-24 and Munford RB Wilson Lowry was named  Offensive MVP.  Coach Kirby is married to Olivia Kirby and they have three  children Hannah(13), Leah(9), and Jackson(8).
